It is my goal to continually strive to gain opportunities which expand my professional and personal skills. Introduced to core competencies that address the set of skills, knowledge and behaviors needed to facilitate in a wide variety of environments. Skills learned include: guiding groups to appropriate and useful outcomes; and building professional knowledge and modeling positive professional approaches.

mentorship and accountability through fierce conversations

Designed to help mentors and supervisors better understand how to ignite productive dialogue that provokes learning, resolves tough challenges, and enriches relationships.

grant writing academy

Gained knowledge, skills, and support to expand grant writing capabilities and pursue further funding with confidence. This was accomplished through interactions with internal and external grant experts, faculty and staff colleagues with previous grant success, and the Vice President of Public Service and Outreach.

certificate in diversity, equity and inclusion

A multi-class workshop designed to learn effective intercultural communication skills and develop a toolkit of resources to best support international students and develop an intercultural perspective.

evaluation and assessment academy

Trained to understand the basics of assessment and evaluation for projects, programs, and for incorporation into future publications.

time management and goal setting

Helped participants build good time management skills, set achievable goals, and accomplish tasks effectively.

communicating your work to the community

Understanding how to translate the science you do into the community while learning techniques for reaching community members who are typically underserved and unreached.
