A quick glimpse at some of the major projects I've created and collaborated on. These deliverables come in addition to curriculum, lessons, outreach products, and other learning tools that I have created through my various positions as a marine educator.

Building Georgia’s oyster management capacity through shell recycling
Role: Principle Investigator
Partners: Shell to Shore, GA DNR, Save Our Legacy Ourself
Overview: A two year pilot project aimed to join shell recycling and reef building efforts throughout the State of Georgia for a common goal of restoration, resilience, and environmental literacy.
Status: ongoing

Weather the Storm: hurricane preparedness through virtual reality
Role: Project Partner
Partners: UGA, Clemson University, South Carolina Sea Grant, NOAA
Overview: A virtual reality experience and set of learning modules designed to make residents "feel" the effects of a storm rather than lecture-based learning in an effort to make residents more likely to evacuate prior to a storm.
Status: ongoing

Exploring from within: A Living Shoreline Exhibit at the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium
Role: Principle Investigator
Partners: GA DNR
Overview: Funding will support the construction of the first exhibit featuring living shorelines at any aquarium in the southeast. The exhibit will be paired with a new webpage, resources, and new ways to explore and learn the value of living shorelines.

community engaged intern program & other intern program funding
Role: Partner & Administrator
Partners: UGA, NOAA, Sea Grant
Overview: Various funds to support interns and student opportunities for individuals traditionally underrepresented and underserved in STEM. Funding also provides resources, materials, and other necessities for students who need them to meet the expectations of their positions.
Status: ongoing

virtual exploration of georgia's coastal wetlands
Role: Principle Investigator
Partners: Southeast Coastal Ocean Observation Regional Association
Overview: A curriculum built to introduce students to Georgia's coast through a virtual reality field trip. Classes without the resources to travel to the coast can loan VR headsets that give students the experience of a field trip in their classroom.
Status: complete

storm surge protectors: an americorps position hosted at uncw marinequest
Role: Principle Investigator and Supervisor
Partners: AmeriCorps, UNCW
Overview: This position allowed an AmeriCorps member to coordinate and implement citizen science projects to help enhance and teach about resilience along the North Carolina Coast. This project has run multiple years after the initial year of funding.
